Duplicate IDs being reported falsely it seems in Productions

Adobe Productions appears to add projects to the Duplicate File list that were created with unique IDs. I created a brand new Production and added previously made projects to the new Production from a 2025 production using the Add a Production feature which should force a new unique ID. Unless this too is a bug just like the Make a Copy feature was reported to be. The other problem is the Duplicate File list appears and disappears so fast you can barely open it. I have to try and “catch” it and drag it to my desktop just to open it. The many times I do there are random projects. Then when I use the Make a Copy feature to duplicate them and trash the old one it works, but then a few minutes later completely different projects are in the list. This is becoming a nuisance to our team because the Duplicate ID flags disrupt working in Premiere. Please help and advise!

    Hi Melanie,

From your description, it’s not entirely clear what’s happening.

Can you provide steps we can follow, which reliably reproduce the “false Dupe IDs reported” behavior you’re seeing?

The problem is we don’t know what’s causing it. It’s very random. I created this Production from scratch and we are very careful in how we import old projects and new projects we create by using the Add Project to Productions options. We didn’t start having this problem until recent weeks. And the fact that the Duplicate ID file disappears and re-appears so fast is extremely weird. When you do get it open and try to make a copy of the said projects causing a problem and trash the old ones it stops for a few minutes. Then it starts up again with a completely different set of projects. We are chasing our tails with this.

Also the flag that comes up in Premiere is flagging so much that it is affecting us being able to work in Premiere overall.

    Agreed!

We believe you’re seeing the behavior, but unless we can reproduce the behavior, we can’t fix it.

Are multiple editors adding projects to the Production?

How often do you end up needing to add existing projects, to an existing Production?

[In our experience, that tends to happen once, early on in the life cycle of that Production, though obviously that’s just the common path; you should be able to add new projects, at any time...]
