Effects Control Panel slows down Premiere Pro

Hi,
I have a problem during long editing sessions with Premiere. When I start working everything goes smoothly but after about an hour of work, every time I click on a clip, the program loses a few seconds before selecting it and showing me the effects. The more time passes the more seconds it takes before the clip is selected, but if I close the Effects Control Panel or remove the effects from the clips, editing goes smoothly again. Premiere also lags when I switch between sequences while there are clips selected.

For now, the only valid workaround I have found is to restart the program, because I use the Effects Control Panel very often and I can't keep it closed. Most of the time i use Motion and Lumetri Color effects, nothing heavy.

Clearing the cache and resetting the workspaces does not work. For now I use version 25.0 of Premiere but it also happened with 24. I am not updating to 25.1 because there is another bug when using adjustment layers with Lumetri panel. But I have already discussed this in another thread.

I work on a MSI Creator 17 with Windows 10, Intel i7-11800H, 32Gb of RAM and Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU everything updated.

Thanks,
Vito

After trying different things i think that the problem is the playhead in the effect control panel, the fact that this is moving like the playhead in the timeline is causing the problem.

The only solution i found to temporarily fix the problem (without closing the effect control panel), is to disable the following option in the timeline : Selection follow playhead.

hope it can help waiting for a better solution. (Sorry for my frenglish)

Exactly, only with the effects panel open. If I close it, Premiere works fine.

Hi @vito.pirrello

Thanks again for taking your time to file a bug report. So your seeing this slow down in response time only when you keep the effects panel open correct? I am going to check on this with the team and see if we can get back to you with more information.

Thank you

Ian
