Enable transmit hides dialog box so I can't do anything except force quit

I use enable transmit to get as full screen preview on my second monitor.

Sometimes if Premiere needs to launch a dialogue box, like to import footage or relink media, it will pop up BEHIND the full screen preview. I then can't exit out of it because I can't see it, and Premiere is totally bricked. The ONLY thing to do is go into Task Manager and end task, losing work and having to restart Premiere.

How is this still an issue in 2025????

This issue has been fixed in Premiere Pro Beta version 25.6.0 build 60 or later, and the fix will be included in the next stable release: Premiere Pro 25.6.0

Ok ... I'm trying to think of when a dialog box has opened on a second monitor ... and as I use four, I think maybe I should at some point have had that happen.

My second monitor has a panel group of the Production, all projects of the production, and the Effects panel. Third monitor is only ever T-O, and the fourth monitor is used in "only" 3-4 of my nine custom workspaces.

I can't recall a dialog box opening on any other monitor. Maybe ... if one had the Effects Control Panel over there at some point, or the Properties panel, it might do that?

Hi @R Neil Haugen - When using a second monitor for Transmit, all UI interaction on that monitor is blocked. If a dialog box was previously opened on the second monitor, it may still appear there behind the full screen preview, which can trigger the issue.

Jamie,

Could you list the circumstances that trigger this? Having that information would be useful.

Hi @LongHaulTom -  Thanks for reporting this. The team is aware of the issue.

When Premiere needs to display a dialog box (such as import or relink), it may appear behind the full screen preview, leaving the app unresponsive.

We’ll update this thread once a fix becomes available.

Wow ... that would be past annoying.

Are you using the main window of Premiere on the second monitor, or the main monitor?

Do you have any panels of Premiere on the second monitor?

I'm trying to guess why Premiere is doing that. I've been running T-O for a decade and some, on a four monitor setup. But Premiere never pops a dialog box on my system outside the main Premiere window.
