Essential Sound - Audio Ducking taking extremely long - Not working

Use the template below to provide us with information:

  • Issue – AWhen using Audio Ducking in the essential sound panel, I'm met with "Generating Keyframes" into what seems like infinity. When I open the progress panel, it doesn't move. This has been going on for a little bit now, I'm running Premiere version 25.4.1 (Build 3). I do also have audio remix enabled. Audio is tagged as Music.
  • Steps to reproduce  Timeline of interview dialoge, A1 is dialoge audio, A2 is music. A1 (dialoge) going to Dialoge submix, A2 (music) is going to Music submix. Both submixes going to main Mix. Apply audio remix to music track. Apply audio ducking to music.
  • Expected result  I should have my music (audio remixed for length) and have audio keyframe ducking in the non dialoge sections of the timeline.
  • Actual result  I get stuck "Generating Keyframes" with no progress and results. It doesn't even look like it's taking a long time- just not working at all.
  • Screen recording https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sobc92zs5soy0086tdd2x/Screen-Recording-2025-08-28-at-6.27.23-PM.mov?rlkey=oolmdnnnga4k5e4g9e17gvhjl&st=asj5tzdd&dl=0
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version – Version 25.4.1 (Build 3)
  • Operating system – MacOS Sequoia 15.5 (24F74)
  • Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
    • Does it affect all projects or only some projects? All Projects
    • Does it affect new projects? Last premiere update and this update atleast
    • When did the problem begin? Not 100% sure, atleast last update and this

Hi @Pierre_Cormier9810 -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

It seems your screen recording was deleted, would you be able to upload it again.

Sorry for the frustration.

Same here. Audio ducking used to be a fairly quick process - and now it just takes so long!!! I actually thought it had froze - but when I came back around 10 minutes later it had completed generating the keyframes. It's now like this for every music track I try to duck - click Generate Keyframes button, them come back later to see if it has finished 🙄

Same.  What used to take 2 seconds now takes upwards of 5 minutes.  version 25.4.1
