Essential Sound: Auto Tag does not work in a Production if clip is not in the open project

Just tested this in two different Productions in Premiere v24.3.0 (MacOS 14.4.1 Studio Ultra M1)

  1. Open a project (Project 1) in the Production
  2. Open a 2nd project and add a clip from Project 1 to a sequence in Project 2 (clip is not in the Project 2 bins).
  3. Highlight the clip in the Project 2 sequence and click Auto Tag in Essential Sound: nothing happens.
  4. Auto Tag works normally in Project 1 where clip is in Project Bins.

Can anyone else confirm?

Thanks for the report John, I can reproduce and have created a bug for this.

Thanks for the follow-up @Kevin-Monahan ! Just checked it this morning in v24.5.0, still happening. A clip in a Production project that does not hold the media won't auto tag.

Hey @John V Knowles,

I don't see a response from the team here. Are you still hitting this bug? Let the devs know.

Thanks,
Kevin
