FIT TO FRAME NOT WORKING

Hello.

Fit to frame not working properly. Yes, FIT TO FRAME is selected BEFORE importing the clips.
When I select an in and out from the source window and drag the clip without sound, the fit to frame feature works and the clip stays at 50% (FHD sequence with 4K clips), if I drag the clip together with the audio the clip doesn't fit to frame ands stays at 100%.
This is ridiculous everytime a new CC comes out something is broken that wasn't before.

Updating Status to Fixed in 25.3

This seems to not be working again in 25.6.4. Windows 10. Media set to fit to frame, but still dragging in the timeline at 100%, not auto fitting the scale to the frame.

Well, at least we've limited it to a Mac issue now. Thanks for the info.

@Stan Jones
It still happens, regarding choosing the v1 or v2 audio track. Inserting from project window or source project with or without In and Out the problem still happens. Note: Only when I drag the clip with the audio attached, if I put and In and Out and drag the video, Premiere does resize the video. This bug doesn't happen in PC.

@pedro24554850n5fo,

Sorry; I forgot to say that I am Win 10. I do not see a reference that the bug was Mac only, but even if not, an unfixed bug may be Mac only now. I did replicate the bug on Win 10 on PR 25.0. I am now on PR 25.2.1, and I do not see it.

Looking back, I think that I did not use your workflow when I tested originally. You said, "FIT TO FRAME is selected BEFORE importing the clips." I think you are opening a clip in the Source Monitor FROM Media Browser, setting in/out, and then dragging to your sequence - which makes it an import operation. In my original test (that showed the problem), I was just opening an already imported 4K clip and dragging. But that showed the problem.

Now, I do not see the bug in PR 25.2.1 on Win 10 whether I open from Media Browser and set in/out or use an already imported clip.

@jamieclarke, what does testing on Mac show? I think I saw the problem originally on V1 or V2 and without regarding to track targeting.

No it doesn't work. Dragging a clip from source monitor with audio Fit to frame doesn't work. Same from Project monitor.
In the other hand, if you drag only the video without the audio from source monitor, fit to frame does work. So this bug isn't fixed.
Mac users only.

This working correctly for me in PR 25.2.0. Dragging from source monitor to timeline video only or video and audio, fit to frame scales correctly; having None for default scaling results in 100%.

@pedro24554850n5fo , it's not on Importing, that's a different function. It's best to use the terminalogy the software uses. This is when inserting from the source monitor to the timeline.

I can still make it happen on 25.2 when inserting from the source monitor, depending on which track is patched with audio.

I think it's fixed in beta I couldn't make it happen on 25.3 b42
