Adobe Version: 26.30 build 93

Product: Adobe Premiere Pro

Issue Summary:
When using a proxy workflow, Premiere Pro no longer automatically relinks the original full-resolution media after a project has been edited on another system and returned to the original editor.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Import full-resolution media into a Premiere Pro project.
  2. Create and attach proxy files.
  3. Save the project and send it (along with the proxies) to another editor.
  4. The second editor opens the project, edits using the proxies, saves the project, and sends it back.
  5. Open the returned project on the original system where the full-resolution media still exists in its original location.

Expected Result:
Premiere Pro should automatically reconnect the original full-resolution media since the project is being opened on the original machine where the source media is still available. The proxies should remain attached, and no manual relinking should be required.

Actual Result:
The full-resolution media is reported as offline and does not automatically relink. Each clip must be manually relinked individually, making the workflow extremely time-consuming on larger projects.

Impact:
This significantly slows down collaborative editing workflows that rely on proxies. Projects containing hundreds or thousands of clips require extensive manual relinking, reducing the efficiency of Premiere Pro's proxy workflow.

Additional Notes:

  • This occurs after a round-trip workflow between two editors.
  • The original high-resolution media has not been moved or renamed.
  • The project is reopened on the original system where the source media resides.
  • This behavior appears to differ from previous versions where the original media was automatically recognized upon reopening the project.
