Graphical issues with FI: Grow FX and FI: Shrink FX

Hey y'all, long time user, first time poster.

I am having an issue with FI: Grow FX and FI: Shrink FX. Upon rendering a preview, Grow FX will be zoomed in unreasonably far, so far that all you can make out is a solid color. The inverse happens with Shrink FX, wherein the clip will become so small it does not even show. This issue can be corrected by changing any of the parameters in the Grow or Shrink effect controls, but it's a coin flip whether or not the issue returns when rendering previews. I've experimented several times and have not found any patterns - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Thankfully, the issue has not persisted through to exporting, but I attribute that to the fact that I've chosen to export with software encoding. I don't appear to have a software encoding option for previews though, so this bug is a huge pain for reviewing videos before export.

Knowing that, I've tried reinstalling my nvidia drivers, to no avail. I've also tried clearing appdata\roaming\Adobe\common, and rendering in different preview file formats. No dice. I am running Premiere Pro 25.5, on Windows 11 10.0.26100, with a MSI RTX 5090 running studio driver version 581.57. This has been happening ever since I updated to the latest version of Premiere, and it affects all of the projects I've used it on so far. I've been searching on and off for days, and can not find anyone experiencing a similar issue. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Evan5C93 - Thank you for the reproducible steps and your help troubleshooting. I was able to reproduce the issue and have filed a bug report. We’ll update this thread as soon as we have more information to share.

Thanks, @jamieclarke. Here's some more info:

Specs:
Intel Ultra 9 285K

Kingston Fury Renegade 96GB DDR5 Ram

Gen5 Samsung 9100 Pro, 2TB
MSI RTX 5090

MSI MPG Z890 Carbon Wifi

This issue does affect brand new projects.

While trying to reproduce the issue for screenshots this morning, I believe I found the culprit. I was able to reproduce it twice.

1. Add FI: Grow FX or FI: Shrink FX to a clip.

2. Copy the clip with the effect, and paste it elsewhere in the sequence.

3. Render a preview.

Additionally, I have tried rendering previews with all tracks but those containing the clips turned off, and the issue still persists. Screenshots below.

Hi @Evan5C93 -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

What are your computer specs?

Does this happen in a brand new project?

Can you list your steps where you can reproduce this issue?

Would you be able to post a screenshot of your settings or a screen recording of your issue.

Sorry for the frustration.
