Hardware Encoding Keeps Failing on Adaptive High
I have been racking my brain about this and trying everything I can find. I suddenly cannot export via PP or Media Encoder when using Hardware Encoding.
- All drivers up to date
- All preferences have been reset
- Trying this from a computer restart and doing nothing else on my computer
I can disable Hardware encoding in Preferences and export using Software only in Adaptive High just fine.
Perhaps this is just a post for others also getting frustrated by the sudden failure of Hardware encoding, but why would it suddenly do this? How would we even find information on why the Hardware encoding would be incompatable?
This is all the context I get
- Encoding Time: 00:00:29

It's crashing the next to last frame of the video. The source video I'm using is a compiled video that I'm downsizing from 3840 to 1920, so it's not the original working file. In that original working file, I can save out a specific sequence Adaptive High using Hardware encoding, but the full video kept crashing (after eating up 100+GB of available disk space for a 01:45 video. I switched to Adaptive Medium and it worked.
