How do I set Premiere Pro 2024 as default with version 2023 still installed?

I'm working in Windows 10.

When I updated Premiere Pro to version 2024 (v.24.0.3), I kept version 2023 still installed because I have a work in progress that uses PP 2023.

However, try to open a Premiere Pro project file by double clicking on it, even if the project was created entirely in version 2024, it tries to open in version 2023 by default. I also don't see Premiere Pro 2024 as an option among apps to open with, when I right-click on the file and choose "Open with..." or when I try to change the default application to open with in the "Opens with..." dialog in the file Properties, Premiere Pro 2024 is not among the options there as well.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Hi thanks for the reply.

I forgot to mention - I did exactly that.

Open with... > checked "Always use this app..." > then clicked on "More apps"

Then clicked on "Look for other apps" > in the Exlorere window that comes up I navigate to Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 > and select "Adobe Premiere Pro.exe"

The next thing that happens is Adobe Premiere Pro 2023 launches and tries to open the file, and I get the message:

If I double click a Premiere Pro project file, version 2023 tries to open it.

I never open Premiere from clicking on a project file. I have the "current" version pinned on the bottom task bar in Windows.

Open (normally my Production from the options on launch, or of course select a specific non-production project at times.

I back through 2018 on my current computer, through 2015 on my older now backup rig.

You were on to it. "Open with..." It's kinda hard to see the right-side scroll-bar, and my mouse does not scroll the list. But if you get to the bottom of the list there is the 'Chose an app on your PC' which opens an explorer window and you can navigte to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 and pick the PP exe. Then use the "Always" button.
