Nobody said you can't use mp3s it's just better not to. It's like ProRes vs h.264... one can be noted as a professional format and the other a consumer format. Same goes with Wav and Mp3. Mp3's need significant processing power on your NLE, same as h.264. ProRes and Wav edit beautifully and leave all that unneeded processing power to contribute to the snappiness of the interface / editing experience.

Use mp3 if you want... it's just not best practices.

screw you adobe, you want 60 eur per month and we can't even import mp3 files and have to reencode them? what's wrong with you?

Same issue here. I had to convert it in WAV to make it work.

FWIW: I never use MP3's in a timeline, save for when I'm might be listening quickly to determine a song I want to use.

As mstegner wrote, open it in Audion, but don't just save it again, save it as a WAV, and it will be a better editing experience, like using ProRes files or ProRes proxies instead of h.264/HEVC

Also experiencing the same issue here. I have an audio track that can open in audio players just fine, but looks like Premiere isn't handling well. Are there any updates on the situation? Unfortunately, I don't have the original files to re-render the track and I'd want to avoid loss of quality if possible.

"a music track that was succesfully used in previous projects".  Ah yes, and this is because Premiere changed the 3rd party library that is used for MP3's when the ARM transition was done.

This is text that is coming from the 3rd party library we use to decode MP3's.  The actual issue is that you are seeing that error at all, it seems the some older encoders can cause the last tiny bit of audio to be not decoded properly, and this error bubbles up from the library and appears in Premiere Pro.  I've written a bug to try to address this root issue.

As a work around for now, until the bug can be addressed, you can try importing the file into Audition and saving it again as a new file, the errors at the end of the file will be corrected and you should not see this issue again.
