Premier Pro - I create a video in OBS Studio, I Remux it into MP4 then import into Adobe premier Pro, as soon as i click on the video or try to edit it in any way the programme shuts down completely. I have tried many different settings on OBS to record in but the same thing happens with each one. My Graphic's card driver is up to date and i have the most up to date version of PP.

    Hi @Sarah W

Welcome to the Premiere forums! Thank you for including those details, screenshots and videos. All very helpful!

A couple more questions for you just to help us narrow things down and help troubleshoot:

    • I see you said most up to date Premiere version, just want to confirm you mean v26.3?

    • May we also ask are you on Windows or Mac? if so what OS/Win11, 10, etc. and if windows, what driver version and build please.

    • The remux MP4 video looks to be 5 seconds of a screen capture, not the clip I think. That’s alright though.

    • I noticed even the thumbnail of that video imported to Premiere, that it looks squished in an odd way, possibly resolution wise. What are your settings on this?

    • Speaking of the remux, are you doing this .mkv to .mp4 from within OBS? It can record .mkv and then automatically make it into .mp4 before bringing into Premiere. Maybe you have this option already checked in Advanced settings, but I wanted to confirm that.

Navigate in OBS settings to Settings > Advanced. Under the Recording section, check the box for Automatically remux to MP4

You can also try directly doing .mp4 through selecting instead using something like ‘Hybrid .mp4’. NOTE: if there’s any interruptions, you may lose your capture as an .mp4 vs. when using the .mkv where you can still access everything up to the point of failure.

Let’s start here with this, and sorry for any frustration.

      Hope to help,
      Katie
