Imports never seem to work

Why did I pay for your product when I have to use converters to convert videos and audio to import into your software?  Get it together Adobe.  You hold a monopoly on a product, it shouldn't be this dysfunctional.

Hi @kenn68121511

Thank you for reporting a problem and sorry you've been experiencing issues. We can try to help and look into this further with a few more details, like file and media information, Premiere Pro version you are on, and hardware specs. Please see How to Report a Problem.

Sorry for the frustration,
Dani

Sadly that wasn't all that useful, as 'we' don't have a clue what codecs you're not able to import. And produced by what.

Premiere is designed primarily as a video NLE for camera produced media. And works with most camera made clips. Some of the raw clips, like BlackMagic, do require a plugin to use in Premiere.

Even most screen recording apps can make clips that work fine in Premiere as long as you don't choose certain options. I use OBS a lot for recording tutorials, and use the mp4 option there without troubles.

So ... what specific format/codecs are not working for you?

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
