In 26.2.2, the app would freeze whenever I needed to open a drop-down in the menu.

I was using the latest version, 26.2.2. Everything was mostly fine, but whenever I need to click into a drop-down menu, it freezes up. Sometimes it will do the action I attempt to make, but sometimes it won't. This also happened when attempting to crop a video in the Properties tab. The Effect Controls seem to work fine. It will sometimes take multiple minutes for it to unfreeze. I reverted back to 26.0.2, and now it’s working great.

I am experiencing this even now in 26.3.  This build is flakey.

Lots of people are facing this problem for a long time. Why are you not adddressing this issue?

Adobe, stop pretending that this is user-specific.  Instead, 26.2.2 failed to solve a universal product bug.  You are receiving payments for Creative Cloud by subscribers who haven’t received a working latest version for over a month.  How about refunds?

I am experiencing a serious intermittent UI problem in Adobe Premiere Pro 26.2.2 on Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200 Build 26200, similar to the one described in this thread.

Premiere works normally most of the time, but after it has been open for a while, using the top menus such as File, Edit, Sequence, etc. causes Premiere to hang for a long time, sometimes for one or two minutes. During this time, I am unable to switch to other applications; Premiere remains on top making my computer unusable during this period. Eventually the menu appears or the selected command executes.

The same commands work normally when triggered through keyboard shortcuts, so the issue seems to be related specifically to opening or using the menu system rather than the command itself.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro, but the problem persists. This is my setup:

    CPU - Intel Core i9-13900K
Motherboard - Asus Prime Z790-P WIFI
    Memory - 64GB
    OS - Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200 Build 26200
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
Driver - Studio Driver Version 596.36
    Adobe Premiere Pro 26.2.2

I have contacted support - they suggested that I put all my project files on my SSD and to uninstall OneDrive (really?).  They have also adjusted my settings and cleared the cache amongst other things.  Tried their suggestions but the problem persists.

The only solution for now is to roll back to Premiere 26.0.2 which works just fine.

Please Adobe, fix this nasty bug.

Same problem here. Reported 2 times, answered like you on other post, send all my info. Nothing “open for Voting” they don’t even acknowledge this as a BIG bug.

I had the same issue and resolved it by rolling back the software update.  Running a mouse cursor down the menu will not highlight commands, and clicking on commands cause 1-minute freezes.

    Hi @RevealEventsGroup
    A few questions:

    • What operating system are you using?
    • Does the freeze occur in all projects, including a brand-new project?
    • Which specific drop-down menus trigger the issue (Properties panel, Effects panel, Export settings, etc.)?
    • When Premiere freezes, does the UI become completely unresponsive, or does the drop-down eventually appear after a delay?
    • Are you using any third-party panels, extensions, or plug-ins?

You mentioned that cropping via the Properties panel triggers the behavior, while Effect Controls works normally.

If possible, could you provide a short screen recording showing:

    1. The menu interaction that causes the freeze.
    2. The delay before recovery.
    3. The same workflow working normally in 26.0.2.

    Here to help

Yes, freeze occurs in all projects, including brand-new with just a single short clip.

    • Which specific drop-down menus trigger the issue (Properties panel, Effects panel, Export settings, etc.)?

Top menus and their submenus: (File, Edit etc)

    • When Premiere freezes, does the UI become completely unresponsive, or does the drop-down eventually appear after a delay?

System becomes unresponsive. Can’t even switch to other applications.  Menu eventually appears, or selected command eventually is executed.  Note that equivalent keyboard shortcut works without any issues.  Problem is just with the menu system.

    • Are you using any third-party panels, extensions, or plug-ins?

No third-party panels, extensions or plug-ins installed.

I am having the exact same problem. It is really frustrating when I need to modify a clip (frame rate, color space, etc.).

When it freezes the Task Manager shows CPU is about 1.7-1.8%, Memory is about 14%, the overall CPU use is between 2-3%, the computer memory is less than 25%, and the GPU is using less than 9 GB of the available 24.

No other Adobe products are running, and only Word, Windows Explorer and Outlook are running in the background.

    System info is:
CPU - AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5975SWX
Motherboard - AASUS PRO WS WRX80E-SAGE SE
    Memory - 256GB
    OS - Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26200 Build 26200
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
Driver - Studio Driver Version 610.47
    Adobe Premiere Pro 26.2.2
    OS- Win 11 Pro 25H2

When the app freezes I get the grayed out UI, and the standard “Not responding” in the task bar. Because it is so flaky I am now in the mode of “save early and save often” so I can crash out if I need to.

    Hope this gets healed soon.
