In a Premiere Production, basic "save as" to create a project copy - it also duplicates project's unique ID, throwing error announcements and ¿possibly risking corrupted projects?

Just to clarify, are you seeing duplicate project warnings immediately after performing a standard Save As on a project that is already part of a Production?

A few questions:

• Which version of Premiere Pro are you using?
• Does the warning appear every time you use Save As within a Production?
• Are both the original project and the copied project open in Production at the same time?
• Have you observed any actual project corruption, or only the duplicate project warnings?

From your description, it sounds like the duplicated project retains the original project's internal identifier, which Productions then correctly recognizes as a duplicate. The warning itself is expected if two projects share the same identity, but I'd be interested to know whether this is resulting in any workflow issues beyond the warning messages.

What happens if you use File > Save a Copy instead?

Save As has a lot of disadvantages compared to Save a Copy so it´s worth trying.
