Issue when using Media Intelligence to search for audio.

After I imported some audio, Media Intelligence worked fine. However, after I switched to the Project panel, deleted those audio, and then re-imported the new audio, it didn't work at all in Media Intelligence, and no audio could be found. It only worked again when I restarted the project.

Thank you for the information @46751581. Just to clarify, can you see the Media Intelligence Analysis process happening when you import/re-import in the Progress window? A few other questions:

  • What are your hardware specs and what operating system are you on?
  • Where are your media/audio files stored and what is your cache location set to?
  • If you go to Settings/Preferences > Media Analysis & Transcription, what option do you have selected for 'Cache analysis results for re-use'?

I've noticed that if I import a large amount of audio into a project—say, around 15GB—Media Intelligence stops updating the audio search results in real-time. This happens even if I delete all the audio and import just a few new files. The AI search results will update to remove the deleted files, but the newly added audio is completely unsearchable unless I reopen the project. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a hardware issue, as it only seems to affect audio search.

Version 25.6.2. This only happens when there are too many imported audio files.

Does anyone here know the answer to this question?

Hi x_1581,

Please ensure that Media Analysis is enabled under Premiere Pro Preferences > Media Analysis & Transcription. Also, navigate to Window > Progress & please ensure that the Media Intelligence Analysis is complete for all the imported media. If it is not complete, you may need to wait for the analysis to finish before searching for visuals or audio

Thanks,

Sumeet

Video works fine, this only happens with audio

In version 25.6.2, this happens in every project. It works fine if the audio is brand new to the project, but if I re-import audio that I previously deleted, it almost always bugs out (probably due to left-over data files). After that, search won't work for anything I import unless I restart.I haven't tried this with single files, only with folders containing lots of audio.

Hi @46751581,

We need a few more details to help with the issue like the exact Premiere Pro version you are on and hardware information. Please see How to Report a Problem

Just to clarify, you re-imported the same audio file or imported a new and different file? Is this happening with multiple different files or in other projects?

When you import files, are you seeing any progress for Media Intelligence Analysis in the Progress Dashboard icon in the top right corner or in the Progress window?

Sorry for the frustration,

Dani
