Keyframing masks is broken

The new mask feature’s keyframing functionality is broken. Sometimes, changing the position value and adding a keyframe doesn’t animate the mask. It just moves it for the entire clip duration.I can’t reproduce when it does or doesn’t work.

    @benwinter masking in Premiere has been overhauled, with the addition of the new object masking. Please see our documentation for more info. I hope this helps;

    No, I know this. I am talking about the new masking feature in the latest version. The keyframing is unreliable. For one, moving the mask doesn’t automatically add a new keyframe even if the keyframe toggle is turned on. Secondly, if you manually add a new keyframe, sometimes the mask still doesn’t animate at all.

    Try setting the mask tracking to Frame Mode. You should see the option to switch between Clip & Frame in the Program Monitor. When set to Frame, any changes to position, scale & rotation should add keyframes.
