Lag in timeline playback cursor

There is a lag in the timeline playback cursor. Earlier it was working fine, I even tried reinstalling the Premier Pro but the problem is not going away. I have even deleted all the cache files as well.

For me, apparently, the lag happens if the Essential Graphics is open. The lag stops if I close that window.
