Mask selection is not showing on premiere 2026 bug

TEST IN PROJECTS

In the video linked I try to show when this bug happens and when not it seems to me that is something to do with the masks folders there created or with the new rotoscopie system. I’ve tested previously the ruler and box out preview but it dind’t solve either. Premiere is updated 26.0.1.

When creating any mask with either mask tool, there are no overlays, edges or anchor points showing in the program monitor. When assigned to opacity, I can clearly see the effect of the mask working, but there are no visible mask edges or selections visible.

Seeing many others having the same issue with many different solutions, I have tried the following:

    -Toggling on/off the ruler.
-Closing the program monitor and reopening it (when I tried to reopen it, it gave me an error saying matrix cannot be inverted)
    -Deleting everything under \Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\26.0
    -Resetting layouts and workspaces completely
    -Toggling off High Quality Playback
-Adding a marker in the program monitor
    -Resizing the program monitor window
-Using Stacked Panel Group in Panel Group Settings
-Opening the project in a new empty project
    -Direct Manipulation on/off
-Every color setting in mask overlay
    -Switching between Clip and Frame
    -Masking using an adjustment layer
-Masking on a low res picture file
-Masking in a new project with nothing imported
    -Checking all the mask properties
    -Changing my Display Scale
    -Deleting Media Cache
    -Updating my GPU driver
    -Turning Display Color Management on/off
    -Turning off NVIDIA overlay
    -Turning off Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
-Changing Preview File Format to any of them

I really don’t want to roll back to an older version. I’m on v26.0.2

    @ANDERSON LIMA38851806y8dv

I had a mask I could not see (at least the boundaries) so

I unassigned the mask then assigned it again and boundaries showed.

    Try it!

Curious if any users also see this in the beta version.
Does this affect any other overlays like Motion: Transform?

For what I been working just the Masks. Even the film impact effects motion controls seems to work just fine. Before the change the masks selections in premiere 2025 were fine too.

@ANDERSON LIMA38851806y8dv are you using a single monitor or an external display?
Does the issue occur on initial launch or only after switching between open sequences of projects? Is there any chance you can try the same project on a different system? Maybe we can determine that is is specific to your current configuration?

I am using 2 monitors but it not affect this bug at least for what I tried. The problem occours after I try using masks in some projetcs, cannot specify but in some projects happens after a while after using the rotorbrush and in some cases it dind’t happen at the firsts uses of the mask. I will try in other system and bring back the results.

When you say “after using the rotobrush” are you referring to After Effects or the new Object Mask tool in Premiere?

Are there any updates to this? I have created a circle mask, moved to opacity but the software is bugging out since I can’t see the mask, it’s no where to be found, I have to keep restarting the software to find it, then I try make another mask later and it disappears again. I only moved to adobe 2026 since after effects ‘26 wouldn’t work on Premiere 25… this is absolutely ridiculous

Please share info on your system. We are still trying to find a system reproduce this issue in-house. So sorry for the inconvenience.
