Maximized Production project: double-clicking sequence also opens wrong project beneath cursor

When working in a Production, if I maximize a project panel and double-click a sequence in list view, the sequence does open in the Timeline as expected — but as Premiere minimizes the project panel, it opens whatever project file is sitting underneath the cursor in the Production panel. This unintended double-action has been present for at least a year.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a Production in Premiere Pro that has several projects within it.

  2. Maximize a project panel so it fills the workspace.

  3. Ensure the project panel is in List View.

  4. Double-click on a sequence to open it.

Expected Result:

  • The project panel should minimize.

  • The selected sequence should open in the Timeline panel
  • No other project should open.

Actual Result:

  • The sequence opens in the Timeline (expected).

  • The project panel minimizes (expected).

  • But the project file located under the cursor in the Production panel also opens erroneously (not expected).

System Info:

  • Premiere Pro: 25.3.0 (Build 84)

  • macOS: Sequoia 15.6 (24G84)

  • Hardware: MacBook Pro 16-inch (2021), Apple M1 Max, 64 GB RAM

  • Extensions: Excalibur, Logitech Options+ v1.81.613202.0, LucidLink, Magic Bullet Colorista V, Motion Bro 5.1.4, Plume Pack Panel, PluralEyes, Red Giant Universe Dashboard, Shutterstock, Soundstripe, Submachine V 2.3, Transcriptive RoughCutter

  • Display setup: Running in clamshell mode with two external displays
    • Studio Display (left, connected via Thunderbolt)
    • BenQ monitor (right, connected via HDMI — recently added)
    • Previously ran single-display (Studio Display only) for years and this problem still existed.

Update: On the go today and just have my laptop with me. I confirmed that this issue persists with just the built-in display. I thought myabe this was an issue with the external monitor/clamshell mode but alas, it happens with just the laptop as well.

Premiere Pro: 25.3.0 (Build 84) currently. I know there's an update but I am mid-project and I know for sure this has been an issue for over a year over the course of many versions
