Media start time incorrect

I may have completely missed something here but I'm struggling with media start time.

I've never paid it much attention before but I'm currently working on a project where it would be very beneficial for me to be able to put a lot of footage from multiple sources in the order they were shot.

I've noticed though that my cameras are showing wildly different "media start" times in the bins. Each camera's footage is in the correct sequential order. But a clip that was shot at around 9.30am (windows properties tab says media creation time is 9.33am) is being given a "media start" time of 15.09pm.

Having never paid much heed to timecodes before have i fundamentally missed something or is something messed up?

using ver 24.5 and files ar all h.264 mpgs from Sony Alpha cameras

Hi @Pyromk1,

Thanks for the information. I'm Kevin, one of the moderators here. That does sound strange, so I alerted the product team. I hope they will reply shortly. If I hear of anything, I'll add it. Sorry for the weirdness.

Cheers,
Kevin

So are you saying that premiere can't read the creation time of of a file?
When im looking at the file creation times on windows, they seem pretty accurate. The internal clock on my cameras hasn't changed either.
I've never really had to use timecodes and so I may be misunderstanding how they work.

Por lo general, a fin de mantener un código de tiempo continuo, debes programarlo en cámara, ya que muchas veces al cambiar la tarjeta o la batería de la cámara el TC se restaura a los valores preseteados.
