metadata & timecode burn-in video effect malfunctioning

I have applied the metadata & timecode burn-in video effect but did not see it. On a hunch I adjusted the vertical position and was able to raise it into view. However as soon as I released the mouse the time-code window disappeared. Seems like a bug. Attached screenshot shows result when I am actively adjusting the vertical position, but as soon as I release the TC window is gone.

@Kevin-Monahan wow, thanks for the quick reply. I'll try to follow your bug report writing guidelines to give you as much detail as possible:

Premiere version no.: 24.5.0 (Build 57)

Operating system: macOS Sonoma 14.5

CPU: Apple M2 Max

GPU: Apple M2 Max

RAM: 64 GB

System hard drive: APPLE SSD AP1024Z (1 tb)

External hard drive (project files): 3 tb via dock, USB 3

Media file properties:

File Path: /Volumes/video-hd-12/operations&certification/20240613-charter-board-training/_footage/fx9-card-04/XDROOT/Clip/963_0371.MXF Type: MXF File Size: 30.47 GB Image Size: 3840 x 2160 Frame Rate: 29.97 Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 24-bit - 8 Channels Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - 8 Channels Total Duration: 00;14;36;21 Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0 Alpha: None Color Space: Rec. 709 Color Space Override: Off Input LUT: None MXF File details: Wrapper type: MXF OP1a (type: SingleItem SinglePackage MultiTrack Stream Internal) File generated by: Sony, Mem (2.00) AVC Unconstrained Bitstream Format: Sony

Sequence settings: Sequence 03 1920 x 1080 05;46;41;13, 29.97 fps 48000 Hz - Stereo Color Space: Rec. 709

Steps to reproduce: Apply effect to clips in sequence. Expected metadata window is not visible. Change vertical position brings it into view but releasing mouse results in non-visibility.

Expected result: visible timecode window over clip

Actual result: no visible timecode window.

Let me know what other information I can provide. Thanks again.

Hey Andy,

After applying the same effect to a 4K clip in a 4K sequence, I understood your issue a bit more. I could only position the metadata lines in the upper-left quadrant of the clip. Something is odd with that.

Here is documentation about the effect: https://adobe.ly/3ypgWdG

I hope the product team will respond shortly about this issue.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheers,
Kevin
