Multicam source sequence track visibility changes not reflected in referencing timeline clip

Product and Version:

Premiere Pro 25.2

System Info:

• MacBook Pro (M3 Max, 128GB RAM)

• macOS 15.3.1 (24D70)

• Footage: Multicam sequence with multiple video tracks (GH5 V-Log footage)

🧪 Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a multicam source sequence with at least 2 video tracks (e.g., multiple camera angles).

2. Nest it into a multicam clip and place that in a timeline.

3. Go back to the multicam source sequence, and hide one of the video tracks (click the eye icon).

4. In the main timeline, note that the clip updates correctly and the hidden track is no longer shown.

5. Now go back and unhide that same track in the source sequence.

6. Return to the timeline — the video from the unhidden track does not reappear.

7. The timeline multicam clip remains “blank” unless:

• You restart Premiere, or

❌ Expected Behavior:

The timeline clip should immediately reflect changes made to the source sequence’s track visibility, especially if that track is part of the selected angle.

❌ Actual Behavior:

• Multicam clip in the timeline continues to display no video after unhiding the track.

• No action (match frame, toggle enable, angle switch, render/replace, etc.) refreshes the video.

• Only restarting Premiere restores correct visibility.

💡 Workarounds (not ideal):

• Restart Premiere

Thanks for the quick response.

I have seen this problem on and off for years working with multicam clips so I can confidently say it's not related to any specific media type, as I have worked with many sorts of media over the years. In my current setup the multicam clips are various clips shot with a GH5, Canon C70 and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6k Prores (4k files).

This happens across projects, it's not isolated to my current project.

This is seen in the program window itself. Usually I'm popping into a multicam sequence, hiding some layers so that I can color correct one of the layers underneath the top layer, then enabling vibility on what I had hidden. When I pop back out and go to my master sequence where my multicam clip is cut into, that's when some angles appear black, or hidden, even though they are not. When this happens my only fix is to close the project and re-open it. Which I have to do many times per day when I'm working with color this way.

Hi @oremusproductions,

Sorry for the frustration. Adding to @Kevin-Monahan's questions, do you see your changes reflected in the Program monitor or is the issue specific to the timeline track thumbnails? If the nest has multi-cam enabled, are you able to switch camera angles by right-clicking the nest > Multi-Camera > Camera #, and are you seeing these changes reflected?

Thank you and hope we can help soon,
Dani

Hi @oremusproductions,

Thanks for filing the bug and including the required information. I'm Kevin, from Adobe Support. While we await the product team's input, can you let me know the following:

  • Does this happen with any specific footage or all footage types?
  • Have you tried the same steps in a brand new project. What happens?

Let the team know. Sorry for the issue.

Thanks,
Kevin
