My timeline keeps getting stuck at certain clips on playback and then it stays stuck during the export too.

The music will lag too.

I'm working on the latest version of Premiere and I've looked at what I can do to fix the situation however I've had no Luck.

I've tried to downgrade to version 25.6.3.

Still no luck, I then unchecked hardware accelerated decoding.

I have transcoded all my clips to ProRes444hq.

I'm working  on a Mac book pro M1 16gb ram with the latest version of OS  Tahoe 26.2.

I really don't know how to fix this bug?

Please can someone help

Hi @The Cavalry,

Did Rob or Neil's suggestions work?  How did you transcode your clips?  Could you clarify a bit more what you mean by 'stuck'?  Does it get stuck forever, or will it eventually catch up and continue after a while?  Do you mean it freezes on a frame, or skips frames, etc.?

Some long-GOP files can do this more than others ... typically those are VFR, variable framerate, rather than normal video which is CFR, constant framerate.

Where doing what Rob suggests, to convert VFR to CFR in Handbrake or ShutterEncoder fixes the problem.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

If it's always happening on the same clips you may want to try downloading the free app HandBrake and have it convert it to eliminate the possibility of the file being corrupt in some way.
