    Hello @denis_6929

Welcome to the Premiere Forums! Thank you for posting. Just to confirm, are you saying a new project with newly imported clips in 26.5.2 is also extremely slow? Could you also estimate a time frame for what you consider “extremely slow” for us to use as a baseline? When you say “It doesn’t work” are you saying that an object is not selected? Does it not track? A screen recording showing this failure could be helpful. Let me know if you would need a private upload link to provide this.

    Hoping to help,

    Amy

    Hello @Amy the Stuv,

    Thank you for your reply!

Unfortunately, all new projects with newly imported clips are significantly slower in version 26.5.2 compared to 26.3.2.

In version 26.3.2, the Object Mask Tool takes around 7–10 seconds (sometimes up to 30 seconds) to initially analyze a clip and allow me to select an object. Once the clip has been analyzed, selecting additional objects in the same clip is much faster, usually taking just 2–3 seconds.

In version 26.5.2, however, the initial analysis of the exact same footage takes around 1–2 minutes. Once the analysis is complete, selecting objects is fast again (around 2–3 seconds).

But there's another issue: if I switch to a different clip and then return to the first one, it seems that the tool loses the previous analysis results and has to analyze the clip all over again, which can take another 2–3 minutes.

When I say "it doesn't work," I mean that sometimes, even after waiting those 2–3 minutes, the tool fails to detect any objects at all. I can't select anything because no objects are detected.

Most of the time, though, the tool does work — it's just extremely slow compared to the previous version.

Just to clarify, I'm referring specifically to the initial clip analysis required for object detection and selection, NOT the object tracking process.

    Hello @denis_6929

I have an update. I reached out to the team and learned why it may be a bit slower in the current version. We have improved the quality of the object mask algorithm and the newer one is a little bit slower than the older one, but is better quality. You can change it to a fast option, but the quality may not be as high.
