Object Mask causes Program Monitor to turn black in interlaced sequences
Product
Premiere 26.0.0
Operating System
macOS Sequoia 15.7.3
Hardware
Mac Studio (M2 Ultra)
Problem Description
When using Object Mask and assigning it to Opacity in an interlaced sequence, the Program Monitor turns black.
Steps to Reproduce
Launch Premiere Pro 26.0.0
Create a new project
Create a sequence with interlaced field settings (Upper Field First or Lower Field First)
Add a clip to the timeline
Apply Object Mask
Assign the Object Mask to Opacity
Expected Result
The Program Monitor should display the image correctly when Object Mask is applied to Opacity, regardless of whether the sequence is progressive or interlaced.
Actual Result
The Program Monitor becomes completely black
Setting Sequence Settings → Fields to No Fields (Progressive) resolves the issue
When Display First Field is enabled in the Program Monitor, playback is visible, but the image turns black when playback is stopped
When the sequence is set to Upper Field First, the image appears correctly after rendering, but not consistently during playback or pause
Additional Information
Object Mask appears to behave correctly only in progressive sequences.
Please confirm whether Object Mask supports interlaced sequences, or if this behavior is a bug in Premiere Pro 26.0.0.
Frequency
Always / 100% reproducible
