Oening a Production causes all future projects to lock by default. Even after toggle of setting.

Working at an agency. We have started to work in Premiere Productions. We have narrowed the issue down to once a user opens a production, the project locking setting is activated. If the user exits the production and opens up a standard premiere project, the project becomes locked. Sometimes even locking out the editor who's project it is. If they turn off project locking, it always becomes turned back on if they open a production, and then if they open up any regular project after, the project is locked.

We have been getting around this issue by deleting the Prlock file. It would be great if the collaboration setting for productions did not mess with the regular project settings.

I'm the one creating the productions using:
  24.4.1 Build 2 Adobe Premiere
Mac Studio - Apple M1 Max, 64 GB
OS Sonoma 14.5

The other editors are using
Adobe Premiere 24.3.0
Mac Studio - Apple M1 Max, 64 GB
Sonoma 14.4 or Ventura 13.6.6

The issue seems to happen on everyones machines and is not isolated.

@Todd_Reeder  I understand needing the project locking for working in productions. The issue is right now we only have 2 productions and say 30 other non production project files.

Any time I close my production and switch to a different client's project - one that is not a production, it defaults to locking it. Is there no way to enable the locking for productions only? Without that setting being applied to all projects?

oops, I think I may have misunderstood the issue before.  The feature is designed to always enable when you open a production.  Project locking must be on when in a production, it would not work as designed otherwise.  You can open a stand alone project when you have a production open, but the rules will still apply to the stand alone.

@tkeller does this happen with any production or just a specific one...if you have not tried yet...can you please make another production and then do your steps again?

The locking carries over when closing the full production and opening up a non-production project.

You're the first to report this issue; interesting!

Confirming: When you say the user closes the Production...are they closing the actual Production, or just the Production panel, within PPro?  [It's possible to close the Production panel, and all Project panels, while having the Production and Projects remain open.]

Is the 'standard premiere project' saved within the Production directory?
