P: Caption is changing to default if i move them

Hi
I am using Premiere Pro version 25.4.1 on

macOS Sequoia 15.6.1, and while editing the caption that I created, I change its font to the one I want, and if I move that caption a few seconds or minutes, it changes to its default font. Does anyone face the same issue?
I tried to reset preferences and reinstall software. Still no help. Can someone please help me with the same?

Updating Status to Fixed in 25.6.1

While editing, I often suddenly notice that the subtitle font has reverted to the default. I'm not sure what the conditions are, but it seems to occur after editing for a certain amount of time, reopening a project, duplicating a sequence, etc.
This bug has caused me to have to re-export multiple times, and I've ended up delivering the project without realizing it, which has caused me trouble. I'd really appreciate some help.

@Cheerful_fact5CF8,

If you are in the Beta version, it should be fixed. What specific build are you in?

If you are in a release version, it will be fixed in 25.6.0, which has not been released yet.

I'm having this issue, too.

It's in Window 11, Premiere Pro version 25.5.

I thought uninstalling including preferenses and reinstall might fix it, but it didn't.

Hey @jamieclarke  by when we will receive the update on Premiere Pro for the following issue?

I've noticed that if I adjust captions or move a clip in the timeline, my font selection gets switched to whatever default is set.  If I move clips, anything down the timeline past that clip will change the captions formating.  If I adjust the captions placement (not trimming or extending - but click and drag move), it will reformat the captions to default.

@T04SA,

This is a bug.

See my post regarding the ways it happens, and the main workaround (add a caption track style).

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/p-caption-is-changing-to-default-if-i-move-them/idc-p/15520757#M56071

The font you see is the one set on your preferences as the default. On Mac, the common font is Monaco; on PC, Lucida Console.

Helps. It started a few weeks back. Everytime I shift the caption around in the sequence or when I copy and paste from one sequence to another, the font automatically changes to Monaco. I've tried resetting app preference, redownloading the app itself, nothing works for me.

Hi pristhl,

We're sorry to hear about this. Please let us know the version of Pr and the OS you are using. Also, if possible, please share a screen recording of the issue. It will help us diagnose it properly.

Thanks,

Sumeet
