P: No longer able to use "ctrl+\" to hide program title bar in Windows after 26.5 update.

Good day,

I am no longer able to use the default "ctrl+\" shortcut to toggle between show/hide program title bar in Windows after the 26.5 update.

Please can someone assist?

I have tried restarting the PC, changing the keyboard layout, searching for the setting in the Keyboard Shortcuts Menu as well as clearing the cache.. Nothing is working!
Please can someone assist?!

Shortcut was removed from the beta some time ago.

    Hey @Ann Bens,

Engineering was wondering if you knew which version of the Beta where it when missing. Do you?

    Cheers,
    Kevin

I first noticed it 3 months ago on Beta 26.5.0 build 38 (Mac)

    Hi there,

Thanks for the post. As far as I know, Maximize App Window has not been intentionally removed from Premiere.

Could you provide a little more information?

    • Windows or macOS, including the OS version

    • Keyboard type/layout

    • Did Ctrl+\ work in the previous version of Premiere?

    • What happens when you press Ctrl+\ in 26.5 — nothing at all, or something else?

If you have Premiere Beta installed, please also try Ctrl+\ there and let us know if it works.

That information should help us determine whether this is system-specific or an issue with the current version.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

I’m on windows 11, latest 26.3 was working fine. 26.5 now behaves like Beta 27.0.
    If shortcut used nothing happens.
Just tried the latest Beta build 44: still not working.

Update: in 26.5 the shortcut does nothing, BUT:

In the latest beta: for the main window, the shortcut doesn’t remove the title bar: not working. For floating panels on secondary monitors, it’s partially working: it centers and resizes the panels to (almost) fit the screen, but doesn’t remove the blue bar to make it truly full screen.

    Hi everyone,

Just updated to the latest Premiere Pro release (v26.5) and ran into a significant issue: the Toggle Application Title Bar shortcut (Ctrl + \) is no longer working.

As a senior video editor who has spent over two decades optimizing workspaces, this specific shortcut is crucial to my daily workflow. I run a multi-monitor setup, and I rely on this command to quickly remove the program title bar. Hiding this bar allows my floating panels to automatically snap and fit perfectly on my secondary screens, maximizing every pixel of screen real estate.

Since this command doesn't traditionally appear in the standard Keyboard Shortcuts menu, I haven't been able to manually remap it to restore the functionality.

    • Has anyone else encountered this problem after updating to version 26.5?

    • Are there any known workarounds to force the title bar to hide in this release?

    Thanks in advance.
