Playback choppy - premiere 2025

In the previous version, 24.6.1 yellow on my timeline would playback fine.  Now in the latest version, it constantly studders, I have to render the footage for it to playback normally.  I have the resolution set at 1/2, even when i go the way down to 1/16 still studders a lot.   The same project with the same footage in version 24.6.1 no problems.  The footage is Canon c70 raw LT, not mfx

specs

AMD 3900x

96gb ram

4070 ti

SSD for footage

Another SSD for scratch/preview renders

UPDATE, the new version Premiere 25.1.0 (Build 73) is running fine, so no need for me to use the beta

That's excellent news.  Good luck with your project and thanks for being part of the Adobe Community.

Hey Rach,

The problem has been resolved in Premiere Pro 25.2.0 Beta (Build 3).  The project runs amazing without the need for proxies.  I switched to the beta to finish up the edits.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @SpaceCherryFilms ,
I'm glad you've found a work around to keep your project moving forward.  I will continue to look into this issue and let you know if I can recreate it.
Would you be able to send a screen grab of the properties of one of the clips?
Best,
Rach

ok so nobody has a solution for this problem...here's what I did.

I made proxies (which I didn't have to do in cc2024) and it plays back fine.

Hey Rach

These are raw files off the Canon C70 - .CRM files and when set it to full it studders as well.

I'm using 25.0.0 build 61

Hi Space Cherry,
Are the files mp4s?  What happens when you put the resolution to full?
Also, are you in 25.0 or 25.1?
