I am also noticing this in 26.0, as well as Photoshop freezing.

@ob_default46178920 Curious question, do you happen to have Magnifier enabled on your Windows Settings? (or anything similar, like this)

    Thanks!!

Hi Katie. Sorry I never updated this forum. We fixed the issue. When our IT company set the new computer up, they did not hook up our monitors through the AMD graphics card. This was causing the computer to send the display through the Intel integrated graphics card. I haven’t had an issue since. Thanks!

     Hi @ob_default46178920

Thanks for stopping by the Premiere forums, glad you’re here! Since you’re on Windows, may we also ask which driver and version you have?

Sorry to hear you’re having freezing issues, and we have seen some reports of Windows related freezing recently. I wanted to find out if it’s doing this while interacting with the UI as well as during playback? Did you also experience this issue in v26.2.2?

    Hope to help,
    Katie

    Hi,

Driver is AMD Adrenalin 26.6.2 (updated June 20, 2026). The freezing occurs during playback and after making any edit such as a cut. The app itself sometimes remains responsive but video will not play. Other times the entire system locks up including Task Manager and other apps. I did not test 26.2.2 specifically as I moved between 26.0.2 and 26.3. The issue is reproducible across new and existing projects with footage stored locally on the C: drive.

Additionally, after closing Premiere Pro I am unable to reopen the app without performing a full system restart. No Premiere processes appear running in Task Manager after closing.
