playback stuttering and slow media preview in 25.6.2

Since updating, I've noticed a massive interruption in workflow due to playback stuttering and incoherent media preview in the program window. After a little while working in the project, the playback window freezes my preview but continues to play the audio on the timeline, so I end up having to close the project, re-open Premiere, and go again. Also another annoying thing is waiting for the "objectives" to be completed before my timeline is even operable (relinking media, media encoding analysis, etc). This version just seems like a totle workflow interrupter overall.

Ok found a solution / work around.

After many reboots and new installs (Nvidia and premiere) I tried one thing: Disabled my internet connection! AND BOOM, everything responded fast as normal!
After enableing the internet it still worked. Maybe it's Adobe Cloud?

I've got the same experience! Its almost unworkable

WOrking with an i7 13700, 65GB, 3060TI (updated studio drivers). Fury 2TB Nvme drive.
But switchting timelines in a pancakestack is slow. Sometimes "pending media" It takes 5-7 seconds after pressing spacebar to play the timeline.
Started Premiere without 3th parties plugin (holding shift) isn't the solution
Changing audio hardware isnt working....
Changing playback resolution isnt working

My preview window will randomly go black as well lol. I'm just mostly shocked about the impact this has on my work flow. It's miserable. It reminds me of editing on a cracked Sony Vegas in 2015.

My experience is exactly the same. If I click another part of the timeline it takes several seconds for the program monitor to update.

Files are stored locally, proxies, 1/4 resolution. The app is junk.

Nothing has changed about my editing process and media. I'm using video located on my harddrive. The playback freezes so often and will just play the audio. Jumping around in my project to different points is super slow now, and the preview is super laggy and choppy at times. Nothing I've ever experienced in previous versions.

Hi @nathanial

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums and sorry you've been experiencing issues. We need a few more details to help like hardware and operating system information. Please see How to Report a Problem

What kind of source media are you working with and where is your project and media stored (external, internal, network drives)?

Sorry for the frustration,

Dani

Looks like they just released a a patch 25.6.3. I can't find any official patch notes so I'm not sure what they changed, but might be worth trying.
