Posterize Time Ruins Image Quality

Applying Posterize Time effect says that it will just change framerate, but all my colors get completely ruined.

  • HDR, Rec 2020, HDR footage.
  • Lumetri Color effects applied, look fine. Only when I apply Posterize Time, it’s like it’s ALSO applying the Posterize visual effect kinda too.

    Hi @ahainen,

Welcome back to the forums and thank you for reporting this occurrence. To assist you further, we’ll need more information:

    • Is the footage Variable Frame Rate (VFR)?
    • Does modifying the Media Color Space to Rec. 709 help the Posterize Time effect work with the clips the way you desire?
    • Can you let us know your system specs and Premiere version you’re using?
      • Premiere Version: How to find the exact version of Premiere you're using.
      • Operating System: Specify Windows or macOS, along with the version.
        • GPU Driver (Windows only): Please let us know your video card driver version. We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.
    • When did the problem first begin (which Premiere version did you first notice it in)?

    Best,

    Jonathan

Might need to change the stacking order or nest in between effects.

There are no stacks. I tried nesting, this had no effect.

Did you say apply Lumetri, nest, then Posterize? Order matters in these things.

Also, I’ve not tried posterize on HDR sequences, so I cannot say from experience how well it works in HDR->HDR   workflows.

    Everyone's mileage always varies ...
