Premiere 2026 is freezing each time I make changes: an effect, the size, add text - everything! The Play button is freezing too. The changes are not visible after rendering. And not I'm not able to use an earlier version to finish the project.

Wanted to mention that we’d identified one cause of this happening from Windows Magnifier under Accessibility Settings. You can type ‘Magnifier Settings’ in the bottom search bar to bring that up. Sometimes it can be toggled on by other apps or games, so even if you haven’t personally toggled it on, try checking there.

    Hi everyone,

I am experiencing frequent, severe application freezes in the latest version of Premiere Pro. The app regularly goes into a "(Not Responding)" state whenever I try to swap menu bars, open workspace panels, or perform edits on the timeline.

I checked my Windows Task Manager while the freeze happens, and it looks like a severe memory/commit charge bottleneck. Physical RAM usage sits around 83%, but the Committed Memory balloons drastically to 27.1 GB / 33.0 GB, causing massive disk caching and UI lag.

    System Specifications:

    • OS: Windows 11

    • Device: Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 Laptop

    • Processor/Graphics: AMD Radeon Graphics (Integrated) + NVIDIA GeForce RTX Dedicated GPU

    • RAM: 16.0 GB DDR4 (13.9 GB usable)

    • Storage: NVMe SSD (C: and D: drives)

    Premiere Pro Build Details:

    • Version: Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 (Version 26.3.0, Build 93)

    Project Workflow Context:

    • Working on multi-track sequence editing (Podcast project with long video/audio clips).

    • Project file path is located within a local user directory synced via OneDrive.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Open a multi-track sequence project.

    2. Attempt to switch workspaces or open/swap panel dropdowns (e.g., clicking Window > Workspaces or clicking across heavy UI menus like Lumetri/Essential Sound).

    3. The interface immediately grays out, the cursor turns into a loading wheel, and the header reads "(Not Responding)" for extended periods.

What I have tried so far:

    • Checking system resource allocation (Task Manager shows high commit charge).

Any insights on how to stabilize the UI performance or fix this memory layout overhead in Build 93 would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Same problem extended

    Hi

    Issue

Audio output randomly disappears in Premiere Pro 26 on macOS, especially when using Bluetooth audio devices. Additionally, export sometimes renders only the first frame.

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Open Premiere Pro 26 on macOS

    2. Import video with audio

    3. Play timeline → audio works

    4. Change sequence / edit / switch panels

    5. Audio disappears in Premiere (system audio still works)

    6. Reconnecting Bluetooth headphones restores audio

    7. Export sequence → sometimes only first frame renders

    Expected result

Audio should remain stable in Premiere regardless of Bluetooth device state.

    Export should render full sequence.

    Actual result

Premiere loses audio routing while macOS audio continues working.

Export occasionally renders only the first frame.

    Environment

    Premiere Pro: 26.x

    macOS: Tahoe (latest)

Audio devices: Sony WH-1000XM4 (Bluetooth), Sonos

    Multiple Bluetooth peripherals connected

    When did the issue begin

Immediately after installing Premiere Pro 26.

    Does it affect all projects?

    Yes, including new projects.

Dear all, so I’m not alone. Just wanted to share with you a solution I found not to start the project (70% was done) from the very beginning, I realized that Premiere Beta works a little bit better and 2026 file can be opened there.

So I opened the project in Beta, made necessary corrections (struggled with Text Tool a lot and reload the Program from time to time to make or see changes) and then I exported this part of the Project. After this, I removed version 2026, upload the latest version 2025, opened my mp4 file there and proceed with the rest. And it worked!

I will be happy if someone finds it useful.

Similar bug in my case. I have just installed 2026. Opened it and imported and MP4. Created a new scene out of the MP4 and my whole workstation freezes. Shutdown was the only solution.I have tried it 2 times.

This is also happening to me. I have tried restarting premiere, restarting laptop, creating a new project and uninstalling and reinstalling premiere. Still not working!

    Hi @IanB_360 ,

Thank you for offering to help. I clicked the “How to report a problem” link, but unfortunately there is nothing to add, especially since the issue doesn’t seem to be specific to my case.

I read the comments on my post here, in the Premiere community, as well as other users describing similar issues on Reddit and other forums. It seems like the problem may be related to the latest version of Premiere in general.

For now, I’ve switched back to 25.6.4. I really liked the new features and the updated workflow logic in the latest release, but at the moment it doesn’t feel reliable — at least not for long projects with large files. (I have enough memory, cache files were removed, etc)

Hopefully, Premiere Team will fix all the bugs soon!

    All best,

    Olga
