Premiere 25.6.3 Long Import & Export times

We’re experiencing extremely long import & export times on the latest long-term supported version of Premiere. We’ve replicated the problem with two different editing computers, same internal components, all of them well above the specifications required for Adobe.

On importing and exporting, the progress bar hangs, it’ll take up to an hour to bring in one 20 minute video clip that is 1080i.

In testing imports, we experience this issue in any version of Premiere later than 25.2.3.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro version – 25.6.4, 25.3, 25.2.3
  • Operating system – Windows 11
  • GPU driver version (Windows only) –NVidia RTX A4000
  • Video format – nVidia 595.71
  • Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
    • Does it affect all projects or only some projects? - All projects, all imports/exports
    • Does it affect new projects? Yes
    • When did the problem begin? On changing to any version past 25.2.3

We’re created a memory dump file as requested, is there a way we can submit it in to have this ongoing issue looked at?

Hi @EditJay -   Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

Can you provide more of your system specs, and windows version?

What type of footage are you importing?  Can you right click and choose “Media File Properties...” and then post a screenshot.

    Where is the media located?

Do you have any plugins or third party panels installed?

Hi @EditJay - Is your mapped drive a nas or other storage?

If you move this media file to your desktop and create a new project does the same thing happen?

Can you try transcoding to H264 or ProRes and see if you have the same issue?

Can you try and uninstall your plugins and panels?
