Premiere 26.0 Sequence Timebase Won’t Change — Settings Revert After Applying

Hi everyone,

I'm running into an issue in the new version of Adobe Premiere Pro where I’m unable to change the sequence timebase.

When I go into Sequence Settings and modify the Timebase (for example, changing it from 60 fps to 23.976 fps), the change does not take effect. After clicking OK, the sequence continues behaving as if the original timebase is still active. If I reopen Sequence Settings, both the Timebase and Display Format have reverted to their previous values.

My current workaround has been to create a brand new sequence from scratch and then copy and paste everything from the original sequence into it. This works, but it becomes very cumbersome when we need to adapt sequences to vertical formats and already have multiple audio tracks with effects applied.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known bug or a workflow workaround to permanently change the sequence timebase?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Best,
Facundo

Thank you for the additional information @defaultoxfvaeb3rq6c. If you are on the Beta, it sounds similar to this issue here. The team is aware of the problem and working on a fix. That thread will be updated as more is known.

I'm using Windows 11 on a 5th month old HP Omen Desktop with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F (2.10 GHz) and 32 GB of Ram.

This only happens in Premiere Pro Beta, and it is on any new project I try. I am not having the problem in regular Premiere Pro. It is only in the beta version. I try to change the image size in the sequence settings and it will either ignore the changes altogether, or ignore one the value changes. Similarly if I try to rename a sequence in the projects panel.

Hi @Facundo26101847mtxf

Sorry you've been experiencing issues. We need a few more details to help like hardware and operating system information. Please see How to Report a Problem.

Is this happening in all projects, old and new, or only on specific or upgraded projects? Are you able to apply the changes to duplicated sequences or is this only happening when trying to change the original sequence you are working with?

Sorry for the frustration,
Dani

I'm experiening this problem too. Adobe is ot executing any changes I make to a sequence. It won't allow me to rename or change the screen size.
