Premiere 26 accurately transcribes a clip, but will not transcribe a slightly longer version

I loaded a 75 second ,mov clip into the source monitor that Premiere Pro transcribed very well.  (the clip is an mp4 + mp3 in a mov wrapper).  I decided I needed a few seconds more and so created a longer clip.  But when I open that in the source monitor the text creation box does not give me a transcribe option.   And now  even the first clip cannot create a transcribe option.  Is there something I should reset?

    @D_ohadobe,

    To get a transcribe/re-transcribe option, try right-click the source media clip in the Project Panel. Or if you open in the Source Monitor and then switch to the Text panel/transcript tab, click the 3 dot menu.

    Thanks for your response, Stan, it was helpful.  Overall, I’ve gotten very rusty after using Premiere a lot in 2021 during the pandemic to create online classes.

    @D_ohadobe Confirming were you able to transcribe your clip with @Stan Jones’s suggestion?

    Appreciate your post,
    Katie

    Just now, after rebooting, I was able to transcribe and then edit the largely accurate transcription, but the CC button is grayed out.

    Ahh.  I needed to have the clip in the main timeline for the captions to be generated..  So this job’s done.  I’m still uncertain why I needed to reboot so any thoughts on that would be appreciated.
