Premiere cannot open any project

I was on vacation, didn't work for 10 days. Today I decided to continue working but I can't open any of the projects. Even if I start a new one, the project still doesn't open. As soon as I click "Create" (see screenshot), the program just freezes and all the space on the screen from other windows also doesn't work. I wait 2-3 minutes but the program doesn't open. I tried uninstalling Premiere while saving my settings, rebooting my MacBook, reinstalling the program but that didn't solve the problem. I don't remember what version of the software was before the vacation, maybe it was updated from 26.2, I can't confirm that. Currently it's 26.3. AE works fine.

    Hi ​@Vadym B.,

    Thank you for the additional information. 3rd party applications are known to sometimes cause performance issues with Premiere. Let us know if updating the programs help, or if removing CLA-2A changes performance of your system.

    Everything works fine without the CLA-2A. I'll contact Waves support. Although I didn't update Compressor, only Premiere and Logic Pro were updated.

    Do you still have PR 25.x installed? Does it work? It won’t open your 26.x projects.

    I’m not sure: did you try starting PR holding shift down and resetting preferences, clearing the cache, etc?

     

    Since you tried a reinstall, try rolling back to 26.2..

    Thank you for reporting this occurrence and providing screenshots. To try and assist you further, the team will need a few more details:

    • What is your MacOS version and chip?
      • How much storage and RAM is available?
    • If there was an update, perhaps a plug-in is causing the disturbance. Can you try holding shift on the application launch and check the 4 boxes that appear?
    • Is the project file and the media saved in the same location?
    • Are any other applications open when Premiere freezes?
    • Would it be possible to share a screen recording as well?

    I still waited for Premiere to open with my project, but it takes a lot of time. Previously, the same project opened in ~10 seconds, now ~5 minutes. I also noticed that Logic Pro also opens much longer after the update, namely on the CLA-2A Compressor plugin. I suspect that Premiere also gets stuck on it. Before updating these two programs, everything was fine. Later, when I have more free time, I will try to remove CLA-2A and try how the program opens without it. Thanks.
