Premiere Crashing Hard after importing some new footage

I imported some new footage into a project (mts and mp3 files) I’ve tried editing since the import but the software has crashed 3 times. I had to turn off the computer and restart as everything was nonfunctional. This is Premiere Pro 25.0 Operating system – Windows 11 1.60 GHz intel core GPU driver version (Windows only) – I have 16BG of RAM and a 128MB graphics card Please help! Can I do anything to able to re-open the project and remove the footage I imported?

It would help us if you could use the link " How to Report a Problem," which provides steps to provide more information that can help us identify the issue. Have you attempted to update to the current version, 26.0.2, to see if the footage imports properly? What is your Graphics card and drivers? You can also share the files with us. If you choose to share the files, please send me a DM or an email with a link to the files in question.

Hi Ian.

thanks for your email. As you can see, I did follow the template for reporting an issue. As far as the graphics card goes, all it says is 128GB Intel UHD. I don’t know how to get information about the drivers.

I did try to install 26 previously but that crashed immediately, so I stuck with 25.

I have edited footage from these same cameras many many times, so I don’t think it has anything to do with the format, but I am not sure what’s up.

Corrupted file?

I did upload the file here to see if you can notice anything weird about it. Please let me know. I appreciate it.

There were known issues with MTS files and audio drift starting with version 24.6. The current version, 26.0.2, has the best playback and performance with the MTS file you provided. As for the Graphics card you currently have, you will experience some limitations and possibly performance issues with certain workflows. Here is a link to Processor, memory, and GPU recommendations

Do you have any other MTS files that will play back on your system? You might have to transcode this file if you continue to have issues and can not update your current version of Premiere.
