Premiere creating a folders in the finder when I open sequences

Hey Peoples,

Got a weird one here. Premiere seems to be creating a folder in the finder (next to the project) with the sequence name of any sequence I open in Premiere, whenever I open a sequence.

If I go to export a sequence in Premiere, it initially wants to export to the corresponding folder that was automatically created.

Other than that I have no other performance issues, this is just annoying more than anything.

I've tried rebooting. I haven't tossed the preferences yet because I kinda want to avoid it if I can. Has anyone else come across this issue?

I'm working in production workflow in Premiere 24.3.0 on a Mac Studio M1 Ultra.  with 128 gigs of ram Mac os 13.6.1 Ventura

Thanks from your friendly neighborhood editor,

Jake B
