Premiere disregards timecode when linking to multiple files with the same Tape Name
When re-linking to multiple clips that share the same tape name (but have unique timecodes), Premiere will link all master clips to the initially linked media file regardless of timecode. Once the re-link attempts reaches a clip with a new Tape Name, the re-link process is as expected and links via Tape Name and Timecode.
Process
1. Import ALE with multiple master clips sharing the same Tape Name, but unique Timecode. Note the timecodes after import.
2. Select all master clips and shoose Link Media.
3. Select the first clip and locate the proper media file and submit.
4. Check timecode of all linked media. They should all be the same and point to the same content.
Solution
1. Import ALE with multiple master clips sharing the same Tape Name, but unique Timecode. Include one test clip with a unique Tape Name.
2. Select all master clips and shoose Link Media.
3. Select the master clip with the unique Tape Name. Locate the proper media file and submit.
4. All master clips should be linked to the proper media.
