Premiere freezing/crashing when importing XML files

Premiere has been freezing/crashing when I import .xml caption files to edit. I'm using 25.5, using an external SSD, and I'm on a MacBook Pro. There isn't one specific file - I've tried multiple .xml files in multiple projects and it freezes and crashes nearly everytime.

Updating status to Acknowledged. Importing XML caption sidecar file crashes PPro. We’ll update this thread as soon as we have more information or a fix becomes available.
