Premiere generated text is affected by background layer

Text built within Premiere appears to be affected by background layers.

It's almost as if there is a pixelated stroke around the text.
I'm demonstrating with a black matte layer, but I was able to recreate this issue on multiple computers using 3 other types of backgrounds, including ones not generated within Premiere.

Good catch! We were able to repro the bug and identify it as a alpha blending issue in the GPU renderer. You can also repro it with non-graphics. We are looking into it! Thank you!

I've had this happen only like once, a few months back. And ... it was minor enough I just ignored it, as it wasn't a crucial to be perfect job. No clue.

Annoying for certain, and in broadcast this would be a no-no.

Seen this too. No solution on my end.

Does not make a difference if you put a solid on the timeline or in the EG.

@Ann Bens @R Neil Haugen I assume this must be a well-documented issue, but I don't find previous discussions.

Thanks for the screenshot. I see nothing significant, and I can demonstrate the effect you describe. Exporting a frame with the color matter track enabled vs disabled, then stacking those frames and applying the difference effect gives an outline of the text. The image is very faint:

Yeah, the line weight of the Text Object in the Graphic gets a little heavier.  I have not done much testing with this issue, but I have noticed it in Premiere Pro. 23.6.2 and 24.1.

One way to avoid this is to use Graphics and Titles > New Layer and stack something behind it in the same Graphic as the Text Object.

Please post a screenshot with the text layer selected, showing the Effects Control Panel, the Essential Graphics Panel, the Program monitor, and the Timeline.
