Premiere keeps resetting all my keyboard shortcuts

This is so frustrating and has happened twice in the last month.

I've no idea why it happened the first time, I assume this last time it was because of Premiere updating. Even then, I don't think it's supposed to do that and there should at least be a warning before it updates (I didn't even know it was going to update today).

Anyway, you're supposed to be able to get old shortcuts back, which I've tried by putting my backup shortcuts file into my current Adobe folder on my desktop, this has done absolutely nothing. My backup file is currently inside the Mac folder inside the Profile-username folder within my main Adobe folder.

I've got really urgent projects due and this completely messes everything up when I'm trying to get work done quickly.

Is there any solution?

@Robbie34135385e7mh,

That does sound odd.

If you reset preferences, it will remove your custom setup.

If you put them back into the wrong folder, they won't work.

I would save the backup outside the "Adobe" folder, but if you found the file with your custom name, you should be okay.

This typically is an OS folder permissions issue ... if the Adobe apps don't have full permissions to use the folder for user things and prefs, then no matter what you do inside Premiere, is actually saved to disc.

For instance, say you set the key-shorts in Premiere, they seem to work, you close. Relaunch. They aren't there! That's a folder issue.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
