Premiere Pro 2025 crashes when creating a new project with ATOK enabled (Windows 11 24H2 / TSF-relat
Dear Adobe Support,
When using Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 with ATOK set as the default Japanese IME on Windows 11 24H2, the application consistently crashes when attempting to create a new project. This issue does not occur when Microsoft IME is used instead. The faulting module is textinputframework.dll (part of Windows' Text Services Framework).
Environment:
- OS: Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (Build 26100.4770)
- Faulting DLL: textinputframework.dll 10.0.26100.4768
- Application: Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 v25.3.0 (Build 84)
- CPU: Intel Core i9-12900K
- IME: ATOK (issue occurs) / Microsoft IME (no issue)
- Reproducibility: High (almost every attempt)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set ATOK as the default Japanese input method.
2. Launch Adobe Premiere Pro 2025.
3. Select "New Project".
4. Premiere Pro crashes immediately.
Error log excerpt (Event Viewer):
Faulting module name: textinputframework.dll
Version: 10.0.26100.4768
Exception code: 0x00000675
Fault offset: 0x00000000000107ba
Workaround:
Switch the IME to Microsoft IME before launching Premiere Pro. This prevents the crash.
Additional notes:
- The issue does not occur in Photoshop 2025 or Illustrator 2025 under the same conditions.
- This suggests that the problem is related to Premiere Pro’s use of the Text Services Framework (TSF) during the "New Project" UI initialization path.
- There is an existing thread in the Adobe Community Forum mentioning this, but this report includes clear reproduction conditions for your internal testing.
Request:
Could Adobe confirm reproduction with ATOK installed, and consider a permanent fix that does not require switching to Microsoft IME? This would greatly improve usability for Japanese customers who rely on ATOK as their primary IME.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
