Premiere Pro 2025 crashes when opening project on Mac

I have a couple of projects that crash every time I try to opne them. I have moved the files to a new drive and it gets stuck halfway when relinking.

I have tried all of the things, deleting cache, preferences, reverting versions. Nothing seems to help. I'm so frustrated with this app, it's making editing impossible.

Hi Ian, it seems I am going through something very similar, and I am at my wits end. Project keeps crashing and if I try to import the project on another empty project it keeps the moment I open the sequence I was working on.

Hi @chpownall

Would you mind sharing one of the projects file that are crashing with us? Just send it my way and add my email and I can take a look.

Thank you

Ian

Project files are simply large computer text files, and can get corrupted at times. To try to get around this possibility, the following steps might help.

First, hold down Shift on launch, opening Premiere from the CC Cloud desktop app, and choose the option to dump all cache files.

Next, create a new project file.

Then go to the Premiere MediaBrowser panel. Navigate to the older project file, single-click so it is simply selected (highlighted), then right-click and Import Assets.

One by one, import sequences, then see if they can work in the new project.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...
