Premiere Pro 26.2 UI lag and freezing, resolved by reverting to 26.0.1

Premiere Pro 26.2.0 (Build 65) has severe UI performance issues.

- UI becomes very slow even in a new project
- Changing font size causes noticeable lag or temporary freezing
- Menu operations are also slow and unresponsive
- Timeline playback itself is relatively smooth
- GPU acceleration (CUDA) is enabled and working correctly
- Media cache was cleared, but the issue persisted
- The issue occurs across multiple projects, including ones that previously worked fine

After reverting to Premiere Pro 26.0.1, all issues were resolved.

This strongly suggests a regression in UI or graphics-related performance introduced in version 26.2.

Premiere Pro 26.0.1

I am experiencing the same issue since the update. How can I resolve this?

Thanks for your comment.

In my case, the issue was significantly improved by rolling back Premiere Pro from version 26.2 to 26.0.1.

After downgrading, the UI lag and temporary freezes—especially when adjusting shapes, text, or using menus—were resolved, and editing became stable again.

If you are experiencing similar behavior, I recommend trying an earlier version via Creative Cloud.

Hope this helps.
