Premiere Pro 26.3.2 - Swedish Speech-to-Text fails while other languages work

Environment

• Premiere Pro 26.3.2
• Windows 11
• Intel Graphics (integrated GPU)
• 32 GB RAM
• Creative Cloud signed in and functioning
• Speech-to-Text language packs installed through Creative Cloud

Issue Summary

When transcribing audio in Swedish, transcription starts but automatically aborts after approximately 1-2 seconds without any error message.

The same media files can be transcribed successfully using English and Norwegian.
Swedish Speech-to-Text fails consistently in Premiere Pro 26.3.2 while English and Norwegian transcription work on the same machine and same media. Language pack reinstall, media cache cleanup and restart do not resolve the issue. Swedish transcription aborts after 1-2 seconds without an error message.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Premiere Pro 26.3.2.
2. Create a sequence containing Swedish spoken audio.
3. Open the Text panel.
4. Select "Transcribe Sequence".
5. Choose language: Swedish.
6. Start transcription.

Expected result:
Transcription completes normally and generates transcript.

Actual result:

• The transcription starts.
• Progress appears briefly.
• After approximately 1-2 seconds the process stops automatically.
• No error message is shown.
• The sequence remains untranscribed.

Testing Performed

Media and Audio Verification

Tested with multiple video files containing Swedish dialogue.

Result:

• Same behavior on all files.
• Therefore issue does not appear to be file-specific.

Language Comparison Tests

English

Result:

• Transcription completes successfully.
• Transcript is generated.

Norwegian

Result:

• Transcription completes successfully.
• Transcript is generated.

Swedish

Result:

• Transcription aborts after 1-2 seconds.
• No transcript generated.

Media Cache Troubleshooting

Performed:

• Deleted Media Cache.
• Deleted Media Cache Files.
• Restarted Premiere.

Result:

• No change.

Speech-to-Text Language Reinstallation

Performed:

1. Removed Swedish Speech-to-Text language pack.
2. Removed Norwegian language pack.
3. Restarted computer.
4. Reinstalled Swedish language pack only.

Result:

• Swedish transcription still fails.

Preferences Verification

Checked:

• Default transcription language set to Swedish.
• Auto language detection disabled.

Result:

• No change.

System Compatibility Report

Premiere Pro System Compatibility Report shows:

No conflicts to report.

Windows Event Viewer

Reviewed Windows Application logs immediately after failure.

Only notable entry found:

.NET Runtime version 4.0.30319.0 - There was a failure initializing profiling API attach infrastructure. HRESULT: 0x80004005.

This does not appear directly related to Speech-to-Text.

Premiere Pro 25.6.6 LTS Comparison Test

Installed Premiere Pro 25.6.6 LTS alongside 26.3.2.

Results:

Test 1

• Swedish transcription completed successfully.

Test 2

• Swedish transcription progressed almost to completion.
• Premiere became unresponsive.
• Entire Windows system eventually froze.
• Required hard reboot of computer.

Additional Notes

The issue appears isolated to the Swedish Speech-to-Text model because:

• English transcription works.
• Norwegian transcription works.
• Same media files work.
• Same Adobe account works.
• Same hardware works.
• Swedish consistently fails in 26.3.2.

This suggests a problem specific to the Swedish transcription model and/or how it is handled in Premiere Pro 26.3.2.

Additional observation:

During testing in Premiere Pro 25.6.6 LTS, one Swedish transcription completed successfully. During a subsequent Swedish transcription, Premiere became unresponsive when the transcription was nearly complete, and the entire Windows system eventually froze, requiring a hard reboot.

It is unknown whether this is related to the Swedish Speech-to-Text model, GPU acceleration, OpenCL, Intel Graphics drivers, or another component, but the behavior may help identify the root cause.
