Premiere Pro masking handles do not automatically extend

The video attached explains it best - simply put, I'm experiencing behavior with my masking handles in Premiere Pro that are unexpected. When I drag click my mouse in previous versions of premiere pro with the masking tool (hovering my mouse over the preview window with the pen tool, left clicking and holding left click while dragging does not create long bezier handles, which it used to in older versions of Premiere Pro) it worked fine.

Now, the bezier handles get stuck at the node that was just created, and it's infuriating. Because I can't even move the node now since there are handles that get clicked first. The nodes aren't even un-bezier, which would be better!!

The Premiere Pro pen masking tool creates bezier curves that are weird/strange.

Apologies. This was a recently introduced issue that has been fixed in 24.3.

Updating Premiere Pro fixed the issue. Updating graphics drivers did not fix the issue.

Expected behavior, on a different device. Also, resetting preferences did not fix the issue.

It used to be that when you made a new mask, starting with a left click, the node would be added to the mask, and then the holding of the left mouse button allowed you to adjust the bezier curve of the new node of the mask.
