Premiere Pro Multicam audio bug: Audio Meters stop working after adjusting audio levels/keyframes, and changing audio effects can cause the Multicam monitors to disappear, flicker, or repeatedly disconnect and reconnect.

Title:
Premiere Pro – Audio Meters Disappear After Audio Adjustments and Multicam Monitors Flicker/Disconnect

Issue:
I am experiencing a serious and persistent issue in Adobe Premiere Pro when working with Multicam sequences, particularly when making audio adjustments.

The problem started occurring several days ago and is significantly affecting my normal editing workflow.

When I am working inside a Multicam sequence and adjust the audio keyframes/levels, the Audio Meters stop responding or disappear. After this happens, the Audio Meters will not work again unless I switch to a different Workspace and then return to the original Workspace. Switching Workspaces temporarily restores the Audio Meters.

The problem can happen repeatedly whenever I make audio-related changes.

There is also a second, more serious issue when working with Multicam and audio effects. If I have a Multicam sequence open and apply or modify an audio effect, the Multicam monitors/screens may disappear, turn off, flicker, or repeatedly disappear and reappear. This makes it very difficult to continue editing and monitor the different camera angles correctly.

Typical workflow:

  1. Open a project containing a Multicam sequence.

  2. Enter the Multicam editing workflow.

  3. Make audio level/keyframe adjustments.

  4. The Audio Meters stop responding or disappear.

  5. The Audio Meters remain unavailable until I switch to another Workspace and then switch back.

  6. Continue editing the Multicam sequence.

  7. Apply or modify an audio effect on an audio clip/track.

  8. The Multicam monitors may disappear, reappear, flicker, or temporarily disconnect from the normal Multicam display.

  9. The issue can repeat when further audio changes are made.

Expected result:
Audio Meters should remain visible and functional after changing audio levels, keyframes, or audio effects.

The Multicam monitors should remain stable and continuously display the available camera angles while audio adjustments or audio effects are being edited.

Actual result:
The Audio Meters stop functioning or disappear after audio adjustments and can only be restored by changing the Workspace and returning to it.

When audio effects are added or modified while working with Multicam, the Multicam monitors can disappear, reappear, flicker, or become temporarily unavailable.

This behaviour interrupts the editing workflow and requires workarounds during normal editing.

Impact:
This is particularly problematic because a large part of my editing workflow involves Multicam editing and audio processing. I need to make frequent audio level and effect adjustments while monitoring the Multicam angles.

The issue makes it difficult to work normally and can interrupt the editing process whenever audio adjustments are required.

When did the problem begin?
The problem started occurring several days ago. It was not part of my normal workflow previously.

Additional information:
The issue appears to be related to the interaction between the Multicam interface, Audio Meters, audio adjustments/effects, and the Premiere Pro Workspace/UI.

I would appreciate it if the Premiere Pro engineering team could investigate this as a potential UI/Multicam/audio bug.

I can provide a screen recording demonstrating both issues if required.

    In response to the audio meter disappearing;
    you can also just “find frame” a clip into the source monitor and it will briefly fix the issue but yes also experiencing this!!

    Hello @Ashur Assur

    I was able to reproduce this on my M4 Mac Premiere 26.5.1 Tahoe 26.6.2, and will be checking Beta 27 momentarily. It seems related to having Toggle Multi Camera View on in the Program monitor, so if you just toggle it off and back on, that may be a faster way to restore it than changing the workspaces while we work on this issue.

    It would still be helpful to know a little about your system too. If you could provide the information below, we would appreciate it.

    • Premiere Version: How to find the exact version of Premiere you're using.
    • Operating System: Specify Windows or macOS, along with the version.
    • Chip (Mac Only): Specify which M-series Chip or CPU/GPU combo.
    • GPU and Driver (Windows only): Please let us know your video card and driver version. We recommend updating to the most recent version; for NVIDIA users, we strongly recommend the Studio version of the driver.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Hi Amy,

    Thank you very much for looking into this and for confirming that you were able to reproduce the issue.

    Here are my system details:

    * Premiere Pro Version: 26.5.1 Build 1
    * Operating System: Windows 11 Pro version 25H2
    * GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080
    * GPU Driver:616.92

    I mainly encounter this issue while working with Multicam sequences and making audio adjustments, including changing audio levels/keyframes and applying or modifying audio effects.

    I appreciate you investigating this issue, as it is affecting my normal Multicam editing workflow.

    Thank you for your help.
